Yabee

A Storytelling Robot that Helps Children Learn and Express

----------------------------------------------------------

Yabee is a storytelling robot with 11 DoFs, vision, voice recognition, locomotion (Reel mechanism for jump & Omni-wheels for movement) function, and a children-appealing exterior that engaged with children with autism and language impairments to improve linguistic capabilities.

----------------------------------------------------------

What Yabee can Help...

•Understand children’s inner mind

•Physical therapy

•Children with developmental disabilities

•Help children to learn and accompany them

Disco Lamp

Robot Lamp which can dance with music and track hand motions

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Disco Lamp is a 4-DOF robot arm with hand-tracking and entertainment function. While in hand-tracking mode, it can sense hand gestures and providing appropriate lighting to the area where the hand resides. While in entertainment mode, it becomes a robot dancer which follows the rhythm of the music and provides disco-style dynamic lighting.

Climbing Robot

A dynamic vertical climbing robot

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a 2-arm climbing robot that inspired by nature. Animals perform robust and agile locomotion in natural environment. The researchers found that dynamic climbing motion of several small species can be approximated by a reduced-order two-arm model. Following this work, a robot with this specific morphology has been developed. We construct a simplified version of the two-arm model and carefully analysis its characteristics and dynamics. By doing so, we are able to find the general guideline of designing dynamic robots as well as to use the model as the prior behavior analysis before the empirical robot experiments, easing and speeding up the development process
